About the Program
Truworths is seeking an experienced Technical Sample Room Manager to lead and oversee a skilled team of patternmakers, cutters, sewing machinists, graders, and marker makers. This role ensures technical accuracy, efficiency, and timely delivery of samples, while managing all technical aspects of garment production to meet customer and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Knowledge

• Ensure internal processes and quality standards align with the Retail Division
• Collaborate with Merchandise and Production teams to optimize garment costing and production
• Establish and enforce standards for garment construction
• Create and maintain a comprehensive Block Library
• Ensure all technical information for garment production is accurate and resolve related issues
• Implement systems and procedures, providing training and support to all staff

Systems & Processes

• Manage the team effectively to meet budgeted outputs and deadlines
• Develop corrective action plans or revise processes as needed
• Coordinate with Merchandise and Production teams to plan workflow and meet deadlines
• Accurately record sample briefs and approvals (Fit and PP)
• Demonstrate proficiency in the merchandise system (Sync) and update tasks on time
• Maintain machinery and equipment in good working order

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Clothing Design or Pattern Making
• Expertise in Pattern Technology (Gerber/Lectra), Grading, and Marker Making
• Proficient in Excel for reporting purposes
• Minimum 5–8 years in a similar technical sample room or production role
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, multiple product types, and manufacturing processes
• Understanding of garment finishing processes and fabric behavior
