About the Program

Truworths, South Africa’s leading fashion retailer, is looking for a talented Store Designer to join our Store Design Department. This role is ideal for a creative professional passionate about retail design, innovation, and delivering exceptional in-store experiences. With over 700 stores and renowned brands, Truworths offers a fast-paced, inspiring environment where design excellence drives customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Store Design & Layout

• Develop innovative store layouts and floor plans that reflect brand aesthetics and operational requirements.

Collaboration

• Work closely with Tenant Coordinators, Architects, Project Managers, Visual Display, Marketing, Operations, and Suppliers to ensure cohesive design execution.

3D Visualization

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other design tools.

Space Planning

• Optimize product displays and customer traffic flow to enhance sales and shopping experience.

Brand Alignment

• Ensure all store designs are consistent with brand guidelines and visual identity.

Project Management

• Assist in selecting materials, finishes, fixtures, flooring, and lighting that align with the design vision and budget.
• Manage project costs, timelines, and deliverables independently.

Post-Opening Evaluation

• Review completed store builds and recommend design improvements.
• Stay updated on retail design trends and integrate innovative ideas to maintain fresh, engaging store environments.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years in retail design or similar commercial environments.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, and other design software.

Soft Skills

• Strong creativity and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
