About the Role

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of company vehicles. This role focuses on routine servicing, repairs, and providing rapid response support during breakdowns or emergencies to keep operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance on trucks and bakkies to ensure peak performance
• Repair vehicles involved in accidents and restore them to safe working condition
• Inspect, service, and replace brake systems as required
• Monitor and maintain oil and water levels across the fleet
• Provide standby support and respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency situations
• Repair damaged wheels and resolve mechanical faults
• Assist vehicles that are stuck or immobilized in challenging conditions
• Troubleshoot and fix lighting and electrical issues
• Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety and operational standards

Qualifications and Requirements

• Matric certificate is essential
• Valid Code 10 or Code 14 driver’s license
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal abilities
• High level of responsibility and reliability
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
