Role Overview: Laboratory Intern
The Laboratory Intern will support quality assurance and food safety processes by preparing and testing samples used in production. This role plays a key part in ensuring that raw materials, packaging, and finished products meet required standards and specifications. The position reports to the Quality and Food Safety Supervisor and contributes to maintaining laboratory systems and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory testing on production materials and products
- Prepare and analyze samples to ensure compliance with set specifications
- Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory processes and results
- Support quality and laboratory system management and reporting
- Conduct testing on raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
- Assist with internal and external audit preparations and ensure timely closure of findings
- Investigate and help resolve customer complaints related to product quality
- Maintain, clean, and calibrate laboratory equipment regularly
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and maintain proper housekeeping practices
- Support the implementation of HACCP requirements
- Carry out microbiological sampling and interpret test results
Minimum Requirements
- A three-year qualification or equivalent in Food Technology, Biotechnology, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of quality assurance and food safety principles
- Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 standards
