About the Role
The Finance Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the performance of the finance department. This role ensures full compliance with company policies, financial best practices, and all relevant legislative requirements while supporting overall business profitability and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of the company’s growth strategy to drive profitability
- Lead and manage the country finance team to achieve high performance and efficiency
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, and performance standards for team members
- Ensure accurate financial accounting and reporting in line with group standards and IFRS
- Oversee timely tax submissions and ensure full compliance with tax regulations
- Manage in-country treasury functions in alignment with centralized procedures
- Recommend improvements to financial systems, procedures, and controls
- Ensure adherence to centralized company processes, systems, and policies
- Prepare and manage annual budgets for approval
- Monitor financial performance, including cost control and exchange rate impacts
- Oversee the import function and related financial processes
- Conduct monthly variance analysis and present insights to management
- Enforce compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal standards
- Stay updated on financial regulations and legislation, ensuring compliance with foreign exchange policies, fund repatriation, and tax requirements
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and promote company culture across regions
- Perform ad hoc financial and operational tasks as required
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field
- At least 5 years of finance experience, including 2 years in a managerial role
- Experience within an audit firm or internal audit function is advantageous
- Fluency in both English and Portuguese
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced computer literacy, including accounting systems
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally
- Mozambican citizenship required
