PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Digital Marketing Manager (C4) will develop and execute the digital marketing strategy to position PEP Africa as the retailer of choice across all operating markets. This role ensures optimal use of digital assets to deliver value to customers and the business, drives accurate and effective communication across digital channels, and provides actionable insights through performance analysis and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- Contribute to the development of the digital strategy aligned to overall marketing and business objectives
- Develop and manage the annual digital marketing plan
- Coordinate and communicate with internal teams and external partners to deliver effective digital solutions
Measurement & Insights
- Leverage digital tools to source customer research and insights aligned to the Marketing Research & Insights plan
- Design and own a performance measurement framework across all digital channels
- Track, monitor, and benchmark performance across websites, social platforms, and other digital touchpoints
Digital Marketing Planning & Execution
- Ensure on-time delivery of all digital marketing campaigns, initiatives, and activities
- Identify opportunities to improve marketing processes and operational efficiencies, driving continuous improvement
- Develop a media strategy aligned to overall marketing objectives with internal teams and agency partners
- Manage digital creative execution, ensuring alignment to brand CI and value proposition
- Drive continuous optimisation of websites and social platforms in partnership with external providers, ensuring content relevance and freshness
Internal Marketing Support
- Support the coordination and delivery of corporate website development initiatives
- Coordinate and execute ad hoc digital requests across the business
- Support leadership with digital execution across various departments
Ad Hoc / Projects
- Participate in and deliver special projects as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Qualification in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Digital Marketing
- Experience with analytics and reporting tools, including Google and Meta platforms
- Proven ability to analyse, interpret, and present digital performance data
- In-depth understanding of Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Google ecosystems
- Strong knowledge of strategic social media and online best practices across organic and paid media
- Retail industry experience will be advantageous
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Intermediate computer literacy, including Google Workspace
- Willingness to travel to African countries
- South African citizenship
