Employee Relations Specialist

Value Vacancies is seeking a highly skilled Employee Relations Specialist to join a dynamic People & Culture function within a leading, multi-country organization. This role is critical in driving effective employee relations, labour compliance, governance, and workforce engagement while supporting business objectives across diverse operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Employee Relations and Labour Law
- Represent the organization in labour litigation, dispute resolution, and case management.
- Support HR Business Partners with disciplinary processes, counselling, grievances, incapacity management, and related employee relations matters.
- Lead and manage collective bargaining processes, ensuring alignment with business strategy, fair employee representation, and timely resolution of disputes.
People Governance and Compliance
- Proactively manage and enforce people governance and compliance standards.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to people practices.
- Promote a culture of accountability, ethical conduct, and workplace rights, including participation in audits and compliance reviews.
People Services
- Oversee workplace services such as canteen operations, uniforms, transport, and medical services to enhance the employee experience.
- Ensure services are delivered according to agreed standards and positively contribute to workforce motivation.
Employee Wellness and Engagement
- Implement and sustain employee wellness strategies and initiatives.
- Provide regular reporting and feedback to leadership and group stakeholders.
- Drive targeted initiatives to improve employee engagement and overall employee experience.
People Analytics and Reporting
- Act as custodian of digital HR systems at a local level, including HR system rollouts.
- Ensure accurate data uploads, master data governance, and monitoring of people analytics using reporting tools.
- Provide insights and coaching to HR leadership and HR Business Partners to strengthen HR analytics capability.
- Consolidate key performance indicators and generate insights to inform strategic decision-making.
Skills, Experience & Education
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Industrial Psychology, or Law.
- Postgraduate qualification or certification in Labour Law, Employment Relations, or Dispute Resolution.
Key Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of HR policies, employment legislation, and labour relations practices.
- High ethical standards with the ability to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality and integrity.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity in managing diversity and inclusion within employee relations.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in mediation, facilitation, and alternative dispute resolution.
- Solid background in labour and employment law, including litigation exposure.
- Experience in contract negotiation and end-to-end employee relations management.
