Job Description
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is seeking a Finance Accountant: Statutory & Account Management to join the Finance team. This role will ensure accurate statutory reporting, trust administration, and effective financial management in compliance with governance frameworks and statutory requirements.
Key Purpose
Manage statutory financial reporting, trust accounting, and account management processes to support the Finance function, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial information while maintaining strong governance and internal controls.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Statutory Financial Reporting
- Prepare, review, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for Ikageng and Mintirho in compliance with statutory requirements
- Develop specialised financial statement notes to ensure completeness and audit readiness
- Review trial balances and financial statements for group companies to ensure accuracy and compliance
Transaction Governance and Documentation
- Approve and record transactions in ERP systems in line with RACM requirements
- Review month-end trial balances for Ikageng Employee Share Trust and CCBSA Mintirho Foundation Trust as part of the GL close process
Audit Preparedness and Risk Mitigation
- Facilitate statutory audits by providing required documentation to Corporate Audit Division and external auditors
- Implement corrective action plans based on audit findings
Trust Administration and Board Support
- Oversee activities of the trusts and funds according to trust documents
- Prepare and review Board and committee packs for trustees
- Support the annual budgeting process and provide financial insights to the board
Dividend and Beneficiary Administration
- Manage monthly headcount reconciliations, dividend calculations, and payments for Ikageng in line with trust deed requirements
Governance and Reporting Compliance
- Maintain RACM narratives, perform quarterly self-assessments, and support stock counts and impairment reviews
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and governance requirements
Process Enhancement and Technical Coaching
- Drive continuous improvement of statutory reporting processes
- Implement new accounting standards and coach stakeholders on statutory compliance
Skills, Experience & Education
Education
- Com.Hons Degree in Accounting or Financial Management (required)
- Chartered Accountant of South Africa – CA(SA) (required)
Experience
- 4–5 years post-qualification experience in financial management
- Experience in statutory reporting and financial statement preparation (advantageous)
- Trust accounting or employee share trust administration (advantageous)
- Exposure to RACM and audit compliance frameworks
Skills
- Strong knowledge of group reporting, consolidation, and statutory financial statements
- Deep understanding of IFRS and financial statement disclosures
- Ability to identify anomalies, investigate root causes, and propose corrective actions
- Familiarity with internal controls frameworks, audit processes, and risk mitigation
- High precision in transaction reviews, reconciliations, and statutory reporting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with internal teams, auditors, and trustees
- Proactive in identifying process inefficiencies and driving improvements
- Ability to manage workloads and meet month-end, quarter-end, and year-end deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for board pack preparation and stakeholder engagement
