Job Advert Summary

Rand Water is seeking an experienced PROJECT MANAGER SAP to lead the design, configuration, customization, and delivery of SAP solutions. The role is responsible for providing expert SAP advisory services, managing SAP-related projects, ensuring system integration, supporting and maintaining implemented applications, and driving user adoption through training and change management.

Minimum Requirements

• IT Degree, with a post-graduate qualification as an added advantage
• SAP-related certification or qualification preferred
• Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in Information Technology
• At least 3 years’ experience in a SAP Project Manager role
• 3 years’ exposure to Digital Technology disciplines or Business Strategy
• 3 years’ experience in System Development Methodologies
• Sound general business acumen

Primary Duties

• Develop and execute architectural strategies for the design and implementation of SAP solutions
• Lead SAP project management activities, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and quality standards
• Perform integration architecture and infrastructure design to ensure seamless interaction between SAP and other technologies
• Ensure effective governance, risk management, control, and data security across the SAP ecosystem
• Resolve SAP-related technology integration challenges
• Mentor, coach, and train developers by sharing technical and solution expertise
• Monitor technical teams to ensure adherence to SAP standards and Solution Extensions
• Ensure technical integrity of projects by leveraging common components and avoiding duplication
• Collaborate with QA teams on test strategies, test plans, test cases, and automation initiatives
• Analyse business requirements and deliver integrated SAP solutions that meet user needs
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the SAP ERP system and related applications
• Design, develop, implement, support, and maintain SAP and related business applications
• Manage system compatibility, patches, upgrades, and enhancements across the SAP landscape
• Ensure audit compliance with no repeat findings
• Drive high levels of end-user satisfaction and system utilisation
• Align business processes with application, enterprise, and infrastructure architecture standards
• Provide daily operational production support, including 24×7 callout support
• Collaborate with process owners to develop, improve, and implement standards and best practices
• Ensure adherence to change management principles and proper testing and sign-off of new solutions
• Review SAP supplier proposals to ensure quality delivery at optimal cost
• Ensure support and maintenance calls are resolved within agreed timelines without escalation

Knowledge

• Extensive knowledge of SAP architecture and solution design
• Project management principles and methodologies
• In-depth experience across the SAP ecosystem, including ECC6, BW, BO, Enterprise Portal, CRM, SRM, PI, BPC, ABC, and GRC
• IT business systems, processes, and procedures
• Experience in system analysis, specification development, testing, and implementation of SAP-based business solutions
