Purpose of the Job
The Forecourt Sales Representative is responsible for managing and growing sales within petrol station forecourts and related convenience outlets. This role requires expertise in forecourt operations, strong relationship management skills, and the ability to thrive in high-volume, fast-paced environments with frequent stock turnover.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and expand accounts within the forecourt and convenience retail segment, focusing on beverage and snack categories
- Manage private label product portfolios
- Provide high-frequency service to maintain product availability and merchandising standards
- Build strong relationships with site managers and forecourt staff
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment to prevent out-of-stock situations
- Execute promotional activations, manage sales according to promotions received, and ensure point-of-sale compliance
- Track SKU performance, particularly fast-moving items, and recommend assortment improvements
- Offer insights into consumer buying behaviour at forecourt locations
- Follow route plans prioritizing forecourts and ensure adherence to daily delivery schedules
- Assist with credit control and reconcile on-site transactions and payments
- Compile and present activity reports reflecting forecourt channel dynamics
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 5–10 years of relevant sales experience, including at least 3 years in Forecourt/Convenience Sales
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven sales track record over the past 12 months
