The Ackermans story began in 1916 when Gus Ackerman opened the first store in Wynberg, Cape Town. His vision was to offer customers great products at fantastic prices, a principle that has shaped Ackermans into the trusted value retailer it is today. In 1986, Ackermans became part of the Pepkor Group, further strengthening its position in the retail market.
