Role Overview
The Branch Consultant/ Financial Advisor is responsible for promoting Sanlam Retail Mass products and growing market share by providing sound financial advice and exceptional client service within a branch environment. The role focuses on sales delivery, client optimisation, cross-selling, and long-term client retention while ensuring compliance and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Delivery
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Sanlam Retail Mass product ranges.
- Understand client financial needs, goals, and affordability to recommend suitable products.
- Keep clients informed of new products and changes, updating portfolios accordingly.
- Validate client information in line with regulatory and product requirements and submit new business through approved channels.
- Conduct client due diligence and identify potential risks.
- Manage daily appointments effectively while engaging walk-in clients.
In-Branch Client Service and Retention
- Service and manage all client profiles to ensure ongoing retention.
- Send payment reminders, conduct follow-ups, and provide ongoing client support.
- Manage and report on Not Taken Up cases, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Support client payment persistency and manage alternative payment arrangements.
- Apply product knowledge to guide clients through policy changes or cancellations and offer suitable alternatives.
- Resolve client queries or escalate through the appropriate framework, providing continuous feedback.
Quality, Compliance, and Continuous Development
- Adhere to all compliance, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain required registrations, CPD points, and up-to-date product knowledge.
- Identify and report risks and potential fraudulent activities.
- Maintain accurate records of advice and log activities in line with standard procedures.
Monthly Planning and Reporting
- Capture and report daily activities using approved systems.
- Compile data for weekly and monthly reports.
- Support ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Retail Branch Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in sales or marketing; insurance branch experience advantageous
- Matric (Grade 12)
- RE5 certification advantageous
- FAIS Compliant (Wealth Management) in line with DOFA requirements
- Class of Business training to be completed within 12 months of employment
