Job Description

The Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in delivering measurable business value through targeted technology and process initiatives aligned to business unit strategies. This position ensures that desired business outcomes are achieved through comprehensive analysis, detailed documentation, and effective governance of technology and process enhancements. The role supports optimal functionality of Group IT systems, balances local operational autonomy with national consistency, and provides leadership across cross-functional teams while mentoring junior analysts.

Key Performance Areas

  • Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements, including end-to-end process mapping
  • Design and align solutions in collaboration with Enterprise and Solution Architects
  • Partner with Project Managers to ensure accurate scope, deliverables, and project timelines
  • Develop, review, and execute functional test cases, including support for user acceptance testing and training
  • Facilitate solution rollouts and provide ongoing post-implementation support
  • Deliver Level 2 system and application support for operational issues
  • Recommend and implement system improvements to enhance performance, stability, and sustainability
  • Liaise with vendors to resolve application-related issues and manage ongoing vendor relationships
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date system and process documentation in a central repository
  • Perform ad hoc duties in support of business and technology objectives

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent relevant tertiary qualification
  • At least 8 years’ experience in a Business Analyst or similar role within Wholesale and Retail environments
  • Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in Business Analysis
  • At least 5 years’ Retail industry experience, advantageous
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant application stacks and integrated systems
  • Strong understanding of BABOK, Application Lifecycle Management, SDLC, and project methodologies including Agile and Waterfall
