About the Role
The Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of staff and outreach teams while managing assigned vehicles or mobile clinic units. This role also supports field operations by assisting with logistics, outreach activities, and basic administrative duties to ensure effective programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Transport and Logistics
- Safely transport staff and teams to outreach sites and offices
- Manage and maintain the mobile clinic or work vehicle
- Keep accurate records of fuel usage, mileage, and maintenance
- Load and unload outreach equipment such as tents, chairs, and generators
- Report vehicle damages and ensure compliance with road safety regulations
- Adhere to organisational vehicle policies and complete inspection checklists
Outreach Support
- Assist outreach teams by providing youth-friendly information and self-care guidance
- Support health education initiatives including risk reduction and harm reduction strategies
- Distribute condoms and promote safe health practices
- Support awareness on gender-based violence, PrEP, and sexual and reproductive health
- Assist with linking HIV-positive clients to care and treatment services
- Ensure infection control, waste management, and quality compliance standards are maintained
- Manage and store HIV testing supplies appropriately
Administrative Support
- Capture and submit daily client and outreach data
- Monitor performance data to support programme targets
- Perform administrative duties as required
- Maintain professional conduct in all interactions
- Build and maintain relationships with healthcare facilities to support referrals
- Submit timesheets and reports within required deadlines
Data Management and Reporting
- Follow standard operating procedures for data management and quality assurance
- Capture and maintain accurate records in electronic medical systems
- Conduct routine data checks and audits to ensure data accuracy
- Generate reports and support programme monitoring activities
- Maintain organised filing systems for all documentation
- Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive information
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Driver’s Licence (Code 10) with PDP
- Minimum of 3 years’ driving experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good time management and organisational abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
