Job Overview
The Store Controller is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, and issuance of goods in the warehouse, ensuring stock integrity and proper documentation. This role includes managing inventory, supporting plant maintenance stores, and ensuring safety and organization throughout the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Management
- Receive goods inward and issue stock against requisitions.
- Store items in good order and maintain a clean, organized warehouse.
- Record stock movements on bin cards and SAP MM system.
- Conduct monthly stock counts and report results.
- Maintain material codes, min/max stock levels, and critical spares.
- Follow up on outstanding orders and ad hoc requests.
Store Control
- Control access to Plant Maintenance (PM) store.
- Issue and maintain portable electrical hand tools and PPE, ensuring items are safe and in good working order.
- Assist with sizing, ordering, and inventory management of PM store items.
- Support accurate stock requisition and reporting.
Housekeeping & Safety
- Keep the store neat, organized, and properly labeled.
- Maintain all documents in an organized filing system.
- Adhere to all safety and food safety standards, wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 certificate.
- Computer literacy with knowledge of SAP H4/SAP R3 or other inventory management systems.
- Forklift operation experience.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in store control.
