About the Program

Truworths, South Africa’s leading fashion retailer, is seeking a qualified and experienced Property Legal Advisor to join our Legal team. This role is ideal for an admitted attorney with commercial legal experience who is skilled in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial lease agreements within the retail sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate terms and conditions of complex commercial lease agreements in the retail environment.
• Draft, review, and manage lease agreements and other legal documents.
• Provide legal guidance and ensure compliance across property-related contracts.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Properties team and other internal stakeholders.
• Support the business in mitigating legal risks related to property matters.

Qualifications and Experience

• LLB or equivalent legal degree.
• Admitted Attorney / Legal Practitioner.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a legal role, preferably within retail, property development, property management, or commercial law.
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Strong legal drafting and documentation skills.
• Proficient in computer applications relevant to legal work.
