Job Title: Legal and Governance Officer
Job Description
The Legal and Governance Officer will support the Group Company Secretary in ensuring that Sea Harvest complies with all regulatory and legal requirements, as well as internal policies. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to manage regulatory risks, support business units with contractual obligations, and maintain robust corporate governance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance:
- Provide assistant company secretarial duties and administrative support to the Group Company Secretary.
- Manage regulatory compliance, meeting preparation, corporate governance, and related services.
- Draft and review ordinary and special resolutions, maintain minutes, and manage the resolution register.
- Prepare board and committee meeting packs by collating and binding documents from relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with Annual Return filings and other CIPC-related matters.
Legal:
- Support the design and implementation of systems and controls to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations.
- Maintain group-wide compliance protocols and review critical business policies from a regulatory perspective.
- Assist with the implementation, monitoring, and compliance of relevant legislation.
- Follow up on regulatory issues and ensure resolution of corrective actions.
- Draft and review contracts in line with company requirements and applicable legislation.
- Conduct legal research, prepare compliance reports, and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
- Assist with compliance monitoring under the Protection of Personal Information Act, Competition Act, and Consumer Protection Act.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and admitted legal practitioner (essential).
- Postgraduate qualification in Compliance (advantageous).
- 2–3 years post-admission experience in company secretarial or compliance roles (essential).
- Corporate legal advisory experience (advantageous).

- Excellent planning, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently under pressure.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
